How Arabius Teaches You to Read

At Arabius, we are laser-focused on helping you learn Arabic. But some clients get confused–if we don’t start with the alphabet will clients learn to read?

So does Arabius teach you to read?

Absolutely! We just don’t start with it.

Why don’t you start with the alphabet?

Arabic has its own alphabet. It contains sounds not present in other languages, and the script is different as well. This means beginners often struggle to focus on all this new information at once

Unlike traditional classes where you focus your attention on the alphabet from Day 1, at Arabius, we focus on helping you learn to hear the sounds. We expose you to over 1,000 words in our first level. Why? Because those are the building blocks to speaking

So how do I learn to write if I don’t learn the alphabet right away?

We have seen it takes clients 30-40 hours before they’re able to really understand the Arabic letters and connect the sounds they hear to the letters. So, we help clients by showing them the written words in level one.

Then in level two, clients begin to write the words for themselves. Clients practice reading and writing short words.

Phase three opens a new world of communication: text messages. Here you’ll practice reading text messages. You’ll also do writing exercises like dictation to help you construct sentences.

Phase four will see you reading beginner books and easily responding to written texts. You’ll be writing short paragraphs.

Phase five gives you opportunities to develop your reading and writing. You’ll be able to read texts in Arabic with more ease.

We help our clients learn reading and writing…just not right away. This is all designed, so you gain real world skills like the ability to WhatsApp friends and family. Does it sound like what you’re looking for? Sign up for a free trial below.
